SONA Ng Boss Ni PNOY

Several campaigns have emerged to stop the privatization of the Agus-Pulangui Hydro Power Complex. One of the vocal campaigns have come from the Mindanao Commission on Women (MCW) headed by its chief executive Ma'am Irene Morada Santiago.

Last July 20, 2012 the SONA NG BOSS NI PNOY was launched at Carlos P. Garcia Freedom Park Covered Court here in General Santos City. The program aimed to orient the different participating sectors about the Pipol's Power Campaign.

Privatization of Agus-Pulangui Power Plants
President Aquino's Administration has repeatedly said that only the privatization of the hydro power complex can provide the most reliable energy for the people of Mindanao. It is their solution for the power crisis in Mindanao.

What is Pipol's Power Campaign?

Pipol's Power Campaign is a campaign against the privatization of the Agus-Pulangui Hydro Power Complex. The campaign aims to pressure PNOY to sell the hydro power complex to private interests by mobilizing the people to "BUY" the said power plants.

The campaign asks for pledges of P50 from each Mindanaon to raise a total seed fund of 1 billion pesos.

The pledging station will receive pledges from Mindanaons and in return a baller and pin will be given for each person who gives a pledge. This will serve as a visible sign of the campaign of how many people have committed in the campaign against the privatization.
